Windows 10: Ethernet isn't working but wireless is

    Ethernet isn't working but wireless is


    I've been unable to get my Ethernet to connect all day (I need it for meetings and gaming) though my WiFi works just fine. I've tried just about every solution I can find including resetting my modem, checking my network properties, updating my drivers, disabling fast startup mode and running various command prompts but I'm still showing an Unidentified Network with no internet access. Any advice?

    Printer isn´t working after latest update.

    After the latest update from Windows, my Canon Pixma ip6600 printer isnt working. In Device Manager it shows up as working properly but when I go to print it isn´t listed as an option in any programs. Troubleshoot suggests it´s a USB 2 printer on a USB
    3 port and that that´s the problem but that cant be since it worked fine before the update. I´ve tried to uninstall and plug it back in but that doesn´t work either.

    Not sure why this is happening. I have working ethernet and am connected, it works fine. But the taskbar icon shows a red X over it, and the tooltip says "Not Connected - No connections are available". Looking in "Network & Internet", ethernet is not even listed there. And before anyone suggests wireless interference .. this PC does not have a wireless card or integrated wireless.

    Are you using an Insider build? This is a known issue in one recent one (can't remember which one). I believe the latest preview build fixes it.
