Windows 10: Ethernet not reaching max speeds

We recently switch form provider, because we have fiber internet now. But for some reason I don't reach the 1Gbps speed using ethernet. The problem isn't with our provider see figure 1 and 2. The ethernet cable isn't the problem either, I first used a cat 5e cable and switched to a cat 6 cable but the results where the same. I checked my ethernet adapter, which says the speed is 1Gb/s figure 3. But for some odd reason my download speed is just ~120Mbit/sec, while my upload is ~140Mbit/s figure 4. I tried reinstalling the drivers, changing some adapter settings, checked the speedlimit wit

Ethernet connection speed problem

Hi,

I have cat5 ethernet cable wich is supposed to handle 100Mbps my wifi speed can reach 50 Mbps when i plug the ethernet and try a speed test i only get 12 Mbps and when i go to settings->network->ethernet->change adapter setting i double click on ethernet i can see that im receiving about 40 Mbps and the sent is 13 Mbps at max how can i fix that?

 

Ethernet speed capped at 100 Mbps

I have a Lenovo Legion T5 28IMB05, and my Ethernet connection is capped at 100 Mbps.

Things I have already tried and didn't work:

• Switch to another cable. Originally, I had a CAT5e and as my speed was capped, I bought a CAT6. It didn't help (though I'm still using it)
  
• Force the driver to use 1000 Mbps full duplex
  
• Try my cable and router with another PC. It works
  
• Try to boot from a live USB running Ubuntu 21.10. It also didn't reach full speed
  

The funny thing is that if a plug a USB Ethernet adapter (TP-link UE330), it reaches gigabit speeds with that cable and router; and then if I reconnect the cable to the Ethernet port on my PC, IT WORKS at gigabit speeds for as long as I have the PC turned on. When I restart, it goes back to 100 Mbps.

As of course, I prefer not to have to depend on a USB dongle to reach full speed on my network, what can I do?

 

Ethernet speed

Have a Dell Inspiron with an Intel Core 13 7th Gen processor running Windows 10.

I just wired Cat6 cable from my modem to this computer as I wasn't getting good download speed via WIFI.

It appears my ethernet speed is set at a max of 100Mbps, can I up the speed to 300Mbps?

If so, how?
