Windows 10: Ethernet port bind failed: Catastrophic failure 0x8000FFFF

So, I am new to Windows, Windows 10, and Hyper-V. The goal is to enable internet connectivity for the newly created Linux VM, using RedHat version 9.


Once I start the machine, and I want to test the internet connectivity, and attempt a "ping"

ping 1.1.1.1


The response from the vm is :

response: network is unreachable


Attempts to reconfigure the Hyper-V network switch Default Switch lead to this error:



How do I achieve reconfiguration of virtual Ethernet switch?

External hard drive error. catastrophic failure 0x8000ffff

Hello..

When I want to create a new folder or put files in the external hard disk it show this message " catastrophic failure 0x8000ffff "

Few weeks before I had changes my laptop hard drive, dose it relate to the problem though before it was working properly?

and how I can solve this problem?

 

Windows .NET Framework 4.7 Update Failed / Catastrophic Failure / 0x8000ffff

Hi,

I am facing a Windows Update error that I can't seem to get past.

1. Custom built PC (X99), less than 12 months old, new install of WIndows 10.

2. Windows Defender not active, never had any anti virus software installed.

3. I've tried the Windows Update troubleshooter tool, it also failed to resolve an issue with "Potential Windows Update Database error detected - Not Fixed"

Below is the installation log, I can provide the CBS.log file if asked.

Any tips greatly appreciated. Would like to avoid a full re-install but if that's what's needed I'll do it...
