    Hi there

Office 2010 (AFAIK Office 2007 as well) still work perfectly on W10 -- I hated Office 2013 and am quite happy with Ofice 2016 -- I'm not bothered what happens in say 2019 -- Office 2016 will still work and if Office 2019 has anything worthwhile then I'll go for it.

As far as Windows insider builds are concerned -- I'm sure Ms will keep the program rolling along probably indefinitely -- after all it's a platform on which Ms get Windows tested on any imaginable piece of hardware and also in environments far removed from a typical controlled relatively sterile I.T dept / testing lab.

The I.T depts. in most firms have to operate to different criteria to home computers and although usually work extremely hard aren't always the best people to test leading edge hardware or operate with all sorts of "Non existent" security etc etc.

The Insider program benefits both the testers AND Microsoft.

    Cheers
    jimbo

  3. Welcome to the Software As A Service business model. Honestly, I'd say Microsoft is a little late to that game.

However, I don't believe you'll have to pay anything for Windows 10 going forward...once you upgrade an existing valid license. If it was me, I'd put a valid 7 or 8 license on that machine, let it upgrade to Windows 10 and be done with it. Then, you won't have any worries about expiration dates.
