Windows 10: Event Viewer Errors after Anniversary Update

I think the post meant to say reset indexing options which is in Control Panel.

 

I'll make my own thread later today. I have since formatted so its not quite that long *Biggrin

 

I uninstalled my sole Windows App that was installed on the D drive, and now I no longer get the Event ID 4401 EFS error in my Event Viewer.

The Event ID 24 VmmsWmiEventProvider error eludes me though, I do believe it at least has something to do with Hyper-V, and I am actually running 3 Hyper-V VM's on my machine, but their operation doesn't have any problems after the Anniversary edition update.

 

I am also having the same issue. I have forza 6 apex installed on drive D only and since I moved it back to Drive C the error went away. However this is not ideal solution for me since the game is around 20GB and I have limited space in Drive C.

I also noticed the WindowsApps folder in Drive D is accessible and I can browse the content of Forza 6 apex app. I guess EFS is not encrypting the folder which causes the error to show up in event viewer

If anyone can help with a solution I would really appreciate it.

I've got the same issue running with clean install pro version 14393.10.
The strange thing I found is that the users I have 3 folders <My account> <default (hidden)> <defaultuser0>
it's normal?
While in the updated version is not present <defaultuser0>.

Error in clean install:
evnt error: Search id 3104 Gatherer
Could not enumerate the user sessions for the generation of the filter pooh.

Yes, that's normal.

The DCOM errors are also typical and occur on every install I've seen so far.
They're easy to fix if you follow the guidelines described in this thread.

Can you move Forza APEX back from your C: to your D: drive? Could you please try this as I have an issue, as mentioned earlier in this thread, that prevents me from doing this (error 0x80070005). So far no-one has confirmed they can do this post-v1607 upgrade so I no idea if this a bug with this build or something specific to my machine. If one other person can confirm that they have the same issue then it means we can try to resolve this issue together.

I did NOT have this issue in Windows v1511; it only happens when upgrading to v1607. I have done this five times now with the same result. I have not tried a clean install, only because I have so much software installed that this would only be a last resort. Even then I'd rather live with this issue and just buy a larger SSD to install Windows and all the Store games on because they update and install fine on C:.

 

So do I and the EFS error also after clean install to a new SSD(C*Smile and using old WD Black Cav 1tb HDD for storage(D*Smile. I have been reading thru this but haven't spotted a fix or a reason why it happens. I also did install the Forza game to D: instead of C:. I see that someone said there is a guide to fixing the COM server errors but can't find it can someone please point me in the right direction? And any help with the EFS error would greatly appreciated! Finally are these errors a serious issue or not causing any noticeable effects for most? Thanks Again!

 

could you please be more specific in how to fix the issue, if you dont mind. "go to control panel/search and reset (admin mode) search" i dont understand

 

I assume you meant to include a link to another thread, as there are no instructions for fixing DCOM errors in this one.
