Windows 10: Every Download and mainly media file I have is corrupted--showing a blank page icon

Please assist! I just bought a refurbished Windows 10 about a month ago. I'm over here thinking it would be a little faster and be able to play some games. Can someone please tell me why absolutely none of the media files are working? There were some glitches in my games and I tried to download mods and when I attempted to download the mods, every single time the download showed a white blank page icon. Also in my game file, a lot of the icons are showing the very same thing. I can't even click on the game batch file for some reason. When I click on the game shortcut it, it shows a glitchy game with really messed up graphics. So my hands are tied! I tried everything I could, did all the "command" prompts to no avail. Please someone tell me something I do not know and I will take any advice you give. I'm really frustrated! Thanks in advance!

Icons Blank/Missing After Windows Update

I noticed this too but not on any Office or Store Apps. This worked for me, for the few that were affected with a blank page icon- go to Program Files, locate the exe for, say, VLC, and right click send shortcut to desktop. That will display correct icon. Drag shortcut to All Apps list or pin to taskbar and click replace, if prompted. The rebuild icon tutorial suggested may help with the Store or Office apps. Good Luck

 

Corrupted file RAR

If the archive has been created using WinRAR, why don't you try WinRAR itself? It has a built-in repair feature for repairing corrupted archive (ZIP as well as RAR). Follow the steps given below:

• Open WinRAR application in your system.
• Now click on File tab > Open or simply press Ctrl+O.
• A small window "Find Archive" will pop up. Locate the corrupt RAR archive from your system directory and select it.
• Now click Open button.
• Click Tools tab > Repair archive or simply press Alt+R.
• Again a small window "Repairing File name.rar" will pop up.
• Now click Browse to select a location to save the repaired archive.
• Check the box "Treat the corrupt archive as RAR" and click OK.
• WinRAR will start repairing of corrupt RAR archive. Once it gets completed click Close.

I hope the above steps will help you repair the corrupted RAR archive.

Blank shortcut icon GPU-Z

Ok I fixed it, last time I updated GPU-Z and that gave me a blank icon, I just uninstalled my current and downloaded/installed the latest version and the icon is back.
