Windows 10: EXCEL.EXE - Application Error

When I woke up this morning and opened my laptop computer, a lot of things are running on it. The computer ultimately displayed a black screen with a pop-up window titled "EXCEL.EXE - Application Error". The content of that window was "The instruction at 0x00007FFBF3C081A7 referenced memory at 0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. The memory could not read. Click on OK to terminate the program" and there was an OK button at the bottom right corner. I tried to use my mouse and my track pad to click the OK button, but my attempts failed since the cursor did not appear on my screen at all. The screen then turned b

I would like to inform that Regsvr32.exe Application Error
Codes are caused by misconfigured system files in your windows operating system or by the following reasons:

• missing or damaged or modified .dll files.
• Invalid Entry or Command path.
• Active X control errors.
• Registry issues.
• Viral or Malware Attack.

I suggest you to run SFC scan and check if it helps.

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

Follow the below steps:

• Right click on the Start button, click on
  Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes and hit
  Enter.
• After the scan, restart the computer and check for the issue.

Note: If you are not able to repair some files after performing SFC scan, I suggest you to refer to the point 3 “Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to
fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log %WinDir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log”. Under the section “Run the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe)” to repair the corrupted files after performing SFC scan.

FIles in Word, Excel and other programmes will not open from the explorer

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community and thanks for providing us an opportunity to assist you.

Please follow the steps.

Step 1:

Lets try to disable the DDE option following these steps:

• Click the File tab, and then click
  Options.
• Click Advanced, and then click to clear the
  Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) check box in the
  General area.

Click OK.

Step 2:

If the issue persists, uncheck the compatibility options by doing the following:

Right click on Excel (.exe) Properties > Compatibility > uncheck all the boxes

To access Excel (.exe), open the following location:

Windows 8 32bit: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14

Windows 8 64bit: C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14

Open Excel from its Shortcut, do you get any errors?

Do you get this error with all Excel files?

If you cannot open Excel on its own or you are getting an error on all Excel files, follow these steps to perform a full repair of your Office installation . . .

Open Control Panel - Programs and Features

Click Microsoft Office in the list of installed applications

At the top, click 'Change'

On the resulting dialog, click 'Repair' - choose the Online Repair, it is a comprehensive fix

That should fix any issues with your Office Installation . . .
