Windows 10: Exclusion folder and Aggressive Anti-Virus

I can't exclude folder or drives from the Exclusion list anymore. When I try to run some .exe files, I'm told that Windows won't run them because of suspected virus found. How do I turn this stuff off? I want to run what ever file I want and not have Windows overrule me.

Apparantly, Microsoft posted a list of files that can be "Excluded" from any Anti-Virus that you use to help with scanning performance.

Exclusions

Wow the answer was great. The how to geeks are great. using language I can understand. Might try this with my music files. And quietman, must be a "quiet" man of not many words, which works for me. Thanks..
