  1. Exiting kiosk mode only shows CMD

    HI all,

I'm currently doing some research and testing in Windows 10 kiosk mode.

I have set up single app kiosk mode on a Windows 10 tablet using a package created in Windows Imaging and Configuration Manager.

I've managed it to run the app fine but when leaving kiosk mode and logging in to another account, I am only presented with a black screen and a command prompt terminal.

I can then use CMD to open Windows Explorer, but I am unable to exit CMD it just reopens itself and the Start menu does not work. I am still able to use the search bar to open anything from the start menu or go in to the settings but I really want to disable the CMD from showing and log directly in to a standard account.

I set the account up using the Provision Kiosk Device wizard in Windows Configuration Manager.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening?

    :)

  2. kiosk mode

    Hello Damion,

You can exit Assigned access by pressing the Ctrl+Alt+Del keys.

Option 2 in the tutorial below can help show you step by step on how to remove a Kiosk account for Assigned Access to permanently exit Kiosk mode.

Windows 10 kiosk mode: screen locks after login

    Hi Matthias,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you are facing issues while using Kiosk Mode on Windows 10.

Since you are being logged out of Kiosk Mode after every login, I suggest you to refer the article

    Troubleshoot kiosk mode issues
    .

Also, you can try removing and creating the Kiosk account again, follow the steps mentioned below to remove the Kiosk account:

    1. Go to Settings >
Accounts > Family & other people.
    2. Under Setup a kiosk option click on
      Assigned access.
    3. Now under Kiosk info click on the
account name and click on Remove kiosk.
    4. Now click on Remove.

Once the account is removed, refer the article to
    Set up a single-app kiosk
    .

    Hope it helps.
