Windows 10: Exiting setup after update

This all started when I tried to log in to my pc and it threw up an error (something to do with access to logon service), so I restarted and left for 10 mins. When I came back, the login page was there as normal, I entered the password and it appeared with the 'hi, we're setting things up' which I thought odd cos I asked my family and they hadn't had any big update recently. This screen remained for about 20 mins and I thought something must've gone wrong, so I pressed ctrl alt del and switched user. I re-entered my password to see the same screen appear, so just left it to do its thing. When I came back, there was just a black screen with a basic-style mouse, and every second or so the taskbar flashed with an error saying something deep in system32 couldn't be found, I think desktop was the final thing in the directory. Is this related to anything I've recounted or is it a virus or bug in the windows update? How can I fix it?

W7 Hard drive partition issue

to get rid of that 100 meg windows partition that setup creates for you on a new install on a blank hdd:

- press shift+f10 when on the partition management screen in setup <-- this opens a command prompt
- diskpart <-- start the windows command line partition management tool
- list disk <--- list the installed hdds in this computer for the next step
- select disk 0 <- might have to replace 0 with the number of the correct disk
- clean <-- this will erase all data on the disk you selected one step up- dont use the wrong disk!
- create partition primary <- creates a primary partition taking up all space on the drive, adjust the command if necessary
- exit, exit to exit diskpart and the command prompt
- click refresh in partition manager and select your newly created partition and install to that

 

Double Monitor Setup is not connecting

Hi Yuri,

To setup dual monitors, I suggest you to press Windows + P keys
and select Extend or the required option and check for status. If you are still unable to setup dual monitor, suggest you to update the Display Adapter driver by following the steps provided below and check for status.

• Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
• Expand Display Adapters.
• Right click on the driver and select Update Driver Software.
• Follow the on-screen prompts to update the driver.
