Windows 10: Experiencing audio feedback after downloading Zoom app

The other evening I downloaded the Zoom app in order to chat with family across the country. Later I went on Netflix and began to experience audio feedback, basically an echoing or vibrating sound accompanying the audio.


After realizing this sound occurs when using any website or listening to music I've previously downloaded, I uninstalled the application. I also did the following:


- disabled my microphone

- updated Realtek which is the audio driver

- troubleshooted through Microsoft's support system


I haven't been able to find any other solutions when googling, including a suggestion regarding "enhanced features" which I couldn't find on my system. It is rather frustrating as I've never experienced this problem before and use my laptop to play music to help me fall asleep.


Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Please explain as if to a child, I'm not super tech-savvy. Thank you!

No Video for ZOOM app

I just downloaded the Zoom app on my laptop -- Dell Inspiron 13, 7000 Series, Windows 10. However, I can't get the video to work. Audio is fine, but no video. I can see others on Zoom, but they can't see me, nor can I see me. Any suggestions for a technically-challenged
rookie who wants to connect with friends during this shelter-in-place phase life?

 

Badly zoomed in on all Office products and Explorer

I suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.

• If you have a mouse with a wheel, hold down the Ctrl key, and then scroll the wheel to zoom in or out.
• From the keyboard, you can increase or decrease the zoom value in 10% increments. To zoom in, press Ctrl + (+). To zoom out, press Ctrl + (-). To restore the zoom to 100%, press Ctrl+0.

audio problems

One possible reason that you’re experiencing sound issue is missing or outdated drivers. We suggest that you update the display drivers by following the steps on this
article.

You may also try checking the sound settings if the default audio device is set to an HDMI output.

• Right-click the sound icon on the taskbar.
• Select Playback devices.
• Under the Playback tab, make sure you choose HDMI output as default audio device.
