Being mainly a DAW user, hard drive standby problems have never been an issue. All sleeping types modes are disabled, but I shall test this on my, so far, faultless set-up.

I'm not sure what you mean.

It would be a bonus for MS (i.e. they wouldn't have to pay out).

The point would be to eliminate install media (DVDs) for old versions of Windows.
Laptop recovery partitions are going to wear out sooner or later. That's why I spend a lot of space keeping my collection of Windows ISOs...

Laptop recovery partitions are going to wear out sooner or later. That's why I spend a lot of space keeping my collection of Windows ISOs... *Ditto I do all my Windows 8 & 7 installs from thumb drives but you still need ISO's to make the install media. It doesn't take much to break the factory recover feature so I like to have nice clean safe ISO's on hand to create install media when I need it. I end up being the go to guy for family and friends when things go south.

I don't see tester's getting any discounts, it would be nice, I just don't think it will happen. I think MS realizes that there will be no huge adoption of Windows 10, and it will take years before it may become relevant, if ever.

    You were fortunate...

One of the last updates, wiped my hard drive (dual boot system), and my other one it always had duplicate log in pictures on start up. So I just removed them and haven't re-installed anything since, maybe when CP comes out I will look at that. What do you base you claim that MS that Win10 will not have many adopters?? Is this just a haters be hatting post?? In the first place it is not a claim, but an opinion. It is also an opinion of many bloggers (look through these forums) and numerous articles with the same thoughts.
    how about this one?
Windows 10 Will Need Time to Succeed, Analyst Says
it from that tenforums if you can trust them.

But, since you asked, I base my opinion, on past adoption of Windows 8/8.1 (not good), why would this be any different? Also, slowing of PC sales, lack of substanial apps, it will have a problem competing in the tablet world, Window phone sales are down in the US. It is essentially the 3rd OS they will release within 3 years (Windows 8/8.1 I feel are almost like Vista and 7).

Why do you feel everyone is just going to run out and buy it? I fail to see your reasoning.

I believe it will have a slow ramp up. If you wish to call me a hater for having that opinion, fine. I feel many "hater's" are really, just ones, who dislike opposing opinions.
