Windows 10: explorer.exe is broken.

Even though I'm a software engineer myself I can't quite seem to how to fix my taskbar It just black as well and my desktop is also nonresponsive as it requires explorer.exe which is broken. Any fix on this I'm using Windows 11 and it updated on a shutdown to bios when I didn't tell it toI did not run out of disk space as I ran "chkdsk C:" and got this output: 975912959 KB total disk space. 945478856 KB in 2361074 files. 1199540 KB in 380584 indexes. 0 KB in bad sectors. 2920755 KB in use by the system. 65536 KB occupied by the log file. 26313808 KB available on disk. O

Nonfunctioning Explorer Search, broken permissions, indexing chaos.. @dalchina, I already established op has backed up the bad drive before suggesting chkdsk.

 

Internet Explorer won't start

Since it's not allowing you to open the settings of the Internet Explorer itself, we suggest that you type inetcpl.cpl on
the search box to open the Internet Properties and follow the steps provided on the link that we have on our previous post.

Note: In doing this you can now skip step 1 under Reset Internet Explorer settings.

If the issue persists, we recommend that you uninstall and reinstall the Internet Explorer.

To download and reinstall Internet Explorer, follow the steps below:

  Check the System Type that you need to install by pressing
  Windows key + Pause key.
  
• Check the System type under System (Ex: 64-bit Operating system, x64-based processor).
• 
  Download Internet Explorer 11 (Offline Installer) on this
  link.
  
• 
  Choose your preferred language and Service Pack (Ex: Windows 7 SP1 64-bit).
  
• 
  Follow the on-screen prompt.
  
• 
  Once done, check if the issues persists.

Thank you for the detailed response. To change the search result's view from content to list, we suggest following the steps below:

• Open the File Explorer and try to search for files.
• In the toolbar, open the View tab and click List
  to change the view.
• Once changed, close the File Explorer.
• Open the File Explorer again and try to search to see if the setting has been retained.
