Windows 10: Explorer.exe is constantly refreshing every 20~30 seconds.

Okay so recently windows explorer.exe has started to suspend its process and relaunch itself every 20~30 seconds (Can be seen in the Task Manager) where the taskbar would just disappear and reappear along with the desktop, and I can't get anything done with it going crazy all the time.


I tried looking this up and all I got was the generic respond to do a reboot of the system and the usual sfc/scannow command on the cmd but without any actual usefulness or progress to figure something out.

I have also tried to disable automatic accent colors and all sort of wallpapers in the background but it didn't help either and I'm going crazy because even after resetting my pc it is still doing the same thing.


So my question is, what could possibly be causing this and why did it happen only 2 days after I updated my system to the latest version of windows.

P.S I did not install any application in that period of time it just happened so suddenly.

I will go with your recommended setting.

In my system, I have set the background picture to change every 30 minutes. But the screen refreshes every 20 seconds. So if changing of the background picture refreshes the Explorer, it should happen every 30 minutes.

Also I like this feature, so isn't there a way around this?

Every time when I open a folder and scroll down, after every 20 to 30 seconds, the Explorer refreshes itself and goes back to the start of the page.

Also, when I rename a file and have to type something, most of the time the Explorer refreshes while I am typing, and the name of the file resets itself. It happens with all kind of file types, whether renaming document files or folder names. It is very
frustrating and I have to work all over again.

I am facing this issue from a long time and even updating the windows to the latest version didn't resolve it. I have updated all the Chip-set and Graphic drivers as well, still facing the same issue.

I have checked multiple times with various antivirus, the system is clean. Currently I am using Windows Defender.

Did you check Reliability history? That refresh could be explorer crash. Just check what crashes.
