  1. explorer.exe on crash loop after 1903 update - Windows.CloudStore.dll

    Hi!

After updating to 1903 I have this issue after login.

Star menu is hiding every 2-3 seconds in infinite loop.

I've managed to open Task Manager - the problem is with explorer.exe process (it keeps crashing and starting new instance).

Additional info and what I've tried so far:

    1. There are 2 users in system. Problem occurs only for one of them.

    2. All windows updates are installed

    3. sfc /scan - eveything ok

    4. DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth (and some other parameters), 100% ok

    5. Removing BagMRU from registry

    6. Setting IsTransformerDataMigrated in registry from 1 to 0, no effect

    7. Setting UseProfilePathMinorExtensionVersion in registry to 1, no effect

    8. Set custom xml for start menu in group polices, no effect

    I think I've tried everything I found on Google explorer.exe on crash loop after 1903 update - Windows.CloudStore.dll ;)

I think it might have something to do with loading start menu, but it's just a hunch..

    Any ideas? Thank for help..

  2. Windows explore crash when searching

The tenforums link solved this issue for me.

The root cause is a Windows 10 bug where File Explorer crashes when long file names are included in a search result. The steps for the workaround are:

    • Open File Explorer
    • Click View > Options
    • Open the View tab
    • Check "Always show icons, never thumbnails"
    • Click OK

    Windows explorer crashing

    Hi,

I am having the same problem as the OP in this thread.
Windows Explorer crashes whenever I open my external HDD or thumb drive in explorer..

I have tried the fixes listed in the above thread and I am getting the same error message as 'ktadie' (post 16). I think this is because I am running Windows 7 Professional. Windows explorer crashes when I open my 'Films' folder on my brand new 2tb external HDD. I have about 300 .avi files in this folder and some of the .avi files are several years old.

In short I believe I need the same fix given by 'Wile E' (post 7) but updated for Windows 7 Professional.

    Thanks in advance.
