Windows 10: Explorer's Windows 10 dialogue box is not showing recent files when trying to upload something

I want to install a Chrome extension which I recently downloaded as a Zip file.I can see this Zip file on my Windows' 10 Explorer, and it clearly shows it was downloaded today to the "Descargas" folder, as shown in the following image:Now I need to install this extension on my Chrome browser, but when I do try to upload this file or its content, the Explorer window does not show my recent files in the Descargas folder or any directory at all... It just displays files and folders from long time ago and this is getting me mad:I've tried too many suggestions I've searched on the Internet with

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

.docx files not displaying in File Explorer dialogue box

when using another app / program, when I 'select file' the File Explorer dialogue box opens, but none of my .docx files are listed. This has only started happening since the update earlier this week (w/c 04/02/2019). Can see in Community that others
had this problem with Windows 7. I am using Windows 10 and everything is 'up to date', I have tried some of the solutions offered but they didn't work. Any help gratefully received.

or just open regedit and remove all the fileX from that key.
