Windows 10: "Extend VOlume" is grayed out

How to open "Extend Volume" when it is grayed out

Extend disc volume in partition - command is grayed out

I allocated space in a new unassigned volume that I shrunk from the C drive. I did not name it at the first try. I tried to extend the volume in my partition that I store my windows 7 (named F) (need windows 7 to run MONEY that you stopped making work
on Windows 10) The extend is still grayed out in my F partition. I then formatted the drive and named it H to see if I could extend my F partition. Still grayed out. I am getting messaged and bells every day that my F drive is running out of space. Driving
me crazy. What should I do?

OS (C Drive - Extending the Volume

I've recently purchased a new laptop and came across a problem regarding the storage volume. It seems there's an arbitrary partition where C: drive has 100GB allocated and the remaining 900GB+ is unallocated. When I tried to extend the volume of C: to include
the 900GB, the option to extend the volume was grayed out and unusable.

Unfortunately, I just don't know enough to figure out why all that space is unallocated and why I can't extend the volume of the C: drive. Searching for the answer yielded a lot of suggestions for third-party software, but I'd like to avoid that solution
if possible. Are there any other options?

I want to extend so your answer is really frustrating ans. I want to extend so why should i shrink and select extend? Extend option is already Dim or unavailable?
