  1. Extending Hard Drive with Another External HD

I would like to extend my main hard drive on my pc with an external hard drive. currently the 2 hard drives are separate, but I wanted to make them the same location. I have run out of storage space on my C: drive and would like more space to install games from steam. the only results I'm really getting are making the 2 drives into a dynamic disk, but I'm afraid that might screw up my PC. is it safe to use this process, or should I try a different method of installing new games? I 'm pretty sure I can transfer all the steam related files to the external drive, but i'd rather not go through the effort of learning how to transfer all the correct files over if I can just extend my current C: drive

    :)

    External Hard Drive

    Hi John,

We suggest that you try the troubleshooting steps below:

    • Open your External Hard Drive file in File Explorer.
    • Type the name of the file you want to search on the search box and click Enter.
The file will show up in Search Results and you will be able to move it to the correct folder.

Let us know if you need further help.

    External hard drive not recognised

Thanks for this. I've done what you suggested and been through all the steps mentioned in the article. The hard drive works fine on a Mac computer, and I've managed to copy the information on it. It must be a Surface issue so I'll try to get a chat line tomorrow.
