Windows 10: External Hard Drive suddenly not accepting files

I have a brand new external hard drive "Samsung" Model # HX-M202TCB/G M3 Portable 2TB. Was working great, I started to download external music files to it, everything was going fine, then suddenly the drive just stopped accepting files. (still 98% free) Was getting I/O error. Checked, and the drive was not even showing up in my file folders or in my disc management. I unplugged the drive, plugged it back in, and it reappears! But now I cannot download anymore files to it, or transfer any files externally/internally from my computer to the drive. The music files I have on the drive that were successfully downloaded work, I can play them, (use on my Serato or play on Winamp), but if I try to delete any files, the drive again disappears. What is happening? Thank you.

We suggest that you try the troubleshooting steps below:

• Open your External Hard Drive file in File Explorer.
• Type the name of the file you want to search on the search box and click Enter.

The file will show up in Search Results and you will be able to move it to the correct folder.

Yes, you may format the external hard drive. Follow the below steps.

  Connect the external hard drive to Windows 10 computer.

  Press Windows + E keys on the keyboard to the keyboard to open the file explorer.

  Locate the external hard drive on left navigation pane in File explorer.
  
• 
  Right click on the external hard drive and click on
  Format.

  Click Start and follow on screen instructions to format the hard drive.

• What are the troubleshooting steps you have done so far?
• Did you make nay changes on the settings of your PC or hard drive prior to this issue?
• Are you getting any error messages when trying to plug in your external drive?
• Does your external drive shows that the space is consumed?
