    External HD, recognized by PC but unable to initialize

    Hello,

    I have a 3,5 HD, from which I need to check some information. It was from an old PC I sold and kept the HD as an information backup. This HD has Windows 10 installed in it and there are Microsoft Office documents stored in it. When I plug-in the HD into a PC desktop USB port, Disk Management will recognize and display it. However, it will not initialize it. When I try to initialize it manually, checking options MBR or GPT it will not initialize. Disk management informs: This device is working properly. Device Started, Device configured and Device not migrated.

    Is there any way to access the HD information? Formatting it is not an option.

    Here you have a couple of messages from the Disk Management utility:

    "Device SCSI\Disk&Ven_TO_Exter&Prod_nal_USB_3.0\000000 was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match.
    Last Device Instance Id: PCISTOR\Disk&Ven_RSP2STOR&Prod_RTS5208LUN0&Rev_1.00\0000
    Class Guid: {4d36e967-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}
    Location Path:
    Migration Rank: 0xF000FC00FFFFF120
    Present: false
    Status: 0xC0000719"

    :)

  3. Windows Backup and Restore not recognizing external HD

    I'm trying to create a disk image of my computer running Windows10 with this hard drive

    My computer recognizes the drive, but Windows backup and restore doesn't.

    So far, I reformatted the HD, and also verified that I have the most recent driver for my external HD

    I also ran troubleshooting scan on Windows 10, and there was no issue.

    I've read multiple threads regarding this issue, and I've done what were suggested.

    Are there any other recommendations?
