Windows 10: External Mic not working

I have an Aser Aspire V 15 Nitro - Black Edition and I am running the most recent version of windows 10.


Recently I got a new headset with a built-in microphone. When I plug them in the headphones work perfectly, however it is obvious that my computer is not using the built in mic. To try and solve this problem I went to my sound control panel, however neither the mic, nor the headphones show up in the control panel (Including when I display disabled and disconnected devices). I have reinstalled my audio driver, verified that every driver I have is up-to-date, and have run trouble shooting on both the audio and the microphone (both of which come up with nothing).


Honestly I have no idea what to try next. I have verified that the headset works with my phone (I don't have another computer to test it with), and most every post I've found online only suggests what I have already tried.


The headphones are Brookstone Cat Ear Headphones with speakers and windows also does not list any other headphones I plug in.

USB Mic Problems.


The next step is what I suggested originally. Try it in a friend's PC or take it to Best Buy and ask them to try it one of their PC's. Have to confirm the mic is working OK.

 

Lumia1020 with external mic doesn't work

I attached external mic(RODE VideoMic) on my lumia1020 with TRRS(CTIA) adapter but my phone still recording with it's internal mic.

I tried voice recorder, 3rd party recorder and video but no app used external mic.

Is there any specific setting to activate external mic?

Or external mic feature just locked in win10 just like 2nd mic?

Or is it simply a matter of CTIA or OMTP?

My phone has Lumia Cyan 1.2.17.0

 

Front Panel Headphones and Mic not working.

Hey Everyone,

Mobo : ASUS M2N MX SE
Processor : AMD Athlon X2 5200+
OS : Windows XP Professional SP2 x86

My Rear panel Speakers and mic works all fine. I got a new set of headphones(with mic) when i connect it to the front panel they don't work. NO SOUND OUTPUT.

I updated the audio drivers. I tried a few many things but I still can't get them running.
My default Sound Manager is Realtek HD Audio Manager.

Please help me get my Front Panel working. A step-by-step guide would be better.
