Windows 10: External Monitor - HP - Apps are Blurry

I have a dell inspirion running windows 10. I bought a brand new HP VH240a that works flawlessly with my old dell but when connected to my new Dell, outlook and chrome and other apps are blurry. I have to manually set the resolution to 125% and then log out and log back in. That can't be ok. The HP monitor works with my xbox etc but it doesnt work plug & play with my new Dell computer.

I need a fix for this because it is literally driving me to walk into the Apple store and become an Apple user for the rest of my life.

The blurry display when using an external display may indicate a scaling issue. If the display of the internal monitor is not compatible with the external monitor, it may render a poor or fuzzy display. As an initial step, we suggest that you try the methods

Blurry Apps on second monitor

Are you sure you read my question in the first place ?

I have no issue accessing my external display. I'm running a laptop with a high-dpi monitor, that is extended to a standard-dpi 22" monitor, and here's what my problem is :

- my high-dpi monitor is showing most of my apps fine (legacy windows apps are blurry, but that's not a big issue)

- what's more of an issue is this : when I drag any app that is not a native Windows 10 app (ie : Google Chrome) on my extended monitor, it shows up blurry. Only native Windows 10 apps are showing up crisp and clear on my extended monitor

I tried upgrading my Intel HD drivers and performed a SFC, but none of these steps solved my issue.

How can I solve my problem ?

External monitor is blurry

Running Windows10 on Dell Inspiron13 5000 Series Intel Core i5 connected via HDMI to Acer KG271B Full HD 27" LED as external monitor. This monitor is blurry. Tried altering the settings on the monitor and also tried the display settings which are both set
to each individually recommended setting for the laptop monitor and for the external monitor.
