Windows 10: External monitor of precision M6500 not displaying anything but properly connected with...

Hello, I have a precision M6500 and I was trying to connect it with an external monitor through VGA cable. It runs windows 10 OS and I have tried installing different drivers and tried to connect it with other monitors with other VGA cables but had the same result. It shows the displays and detects it too but doesn't display anything on the external monitor and I also made sure that the displays are extended. Would anyone know how I can fix this?

External Monitor with Quicken

It is possible that the display resolution automatically adjusts after connecting to an external monitor. For us to properly isolate this issue, we have some questions for you:

• Are you experiencing the same issue even without using the Quicken tool?
• Have you checked if the display resolution settings of the Surface device and the external monitor is the same?
• Have you tried checking for a graphics device driver update?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done to isolate the issue?

I understand that you are facing issues with the display scaling on your external displays. We will certainly look into this for you.

As you are using Vizio TV, you may have to try using custom resolution settings if the in-built settings do not provide the required settings.

For better clarity, please let us know:

• What is the version of Windows 10 that is currently installed on your computer? You can click on Search and type
  winver.
• Are you aware of any recent changes to the system, such as updates, after which you are facing this issue?
• What is the make and model of your computer?

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to check the steps mentioned in the Workaround section in

Windows scaling issues for high-DPI devices

I would also suggest you to check the Display drivers. Please refer

External (Dell) monitor not recognized any more by Dell Precision 7560 after upgrade to Windows 11

• The connection is via a cable where one end is a DVI port connected to monitor and the other end is a HDMI port connected to laptop
  
• My other laptop, Dell XPS 15 with Ubuntu 20 - recognizes the external monitor.
  
• Before upgrading to Windows 11, problematic laptop (Dell Precision 7560) had Windows 10, and external monitor was recoginzed.
