  1. External SSD might be corrupted

I'm pretty sure what caused it was a bad disconnect. Was updating a game and after the update the game launcher asked if I wanted to optimize the cache. This usually takes a while and while this was happening, the game window seemed to have crash so I tried to force it to shut down and that didn't work so I just plugged it out. Since then I haven't been able to actually make use of the SSD.Doesn't matter what I do whether it be formatting, partitioning or writing. Anything that involves it will cause it to disconnect and then computer will say it is not recognized.I don't know if I can say I'v

(File System Corruption) External SSD, NTFS, RAW

Thank you for your detailed response! I will follow the steps within the next 24 hours and report back with my findings, thank you! - - - Updated - - - @jumanji Here's testdisk_win.exe with Boot results, showing OK/OK:
External SSD might be corrupted 359075d1644178584t-file-system-corruption-external-ssd-ntfs-raw-13-t5-testdisk-boot.jpg
Here's testdisk_win.exe with Rebuild MFT results, MFT and MFT mirror match perfectly:
External SSD might be corrupted 359076d1644178746t-file-system-corruption-external-ssd-ntfs-raw-13-t5-testdisk-rebuild-mft.jpg
I want to be honest and tell you the following: - testdisk_win.exe issuing the List command only showed 2 items. - Prior to contacting you, I had run a Scan using Recuva, it showed 2,264 file(s). Here's that Scan with Recuva, showing 2,264 file(s):
External SSD might be corrupted 359077d1644179196t-file-system-corruption-external-ssd-ntfs-raw-10-t5-recuva-scan.jpg
How come Recuva finds 2,264 file(s) when testdisk_win.exe shows only 2 items? Do you still recommend proceeding with chkdsk? Thanks again @jumanji, very helpful!

Fix External SSD without recovering data (bit locker corruption)

    Warm Greetings

I have been looking for a way to get my laptop to recognise an external SSD card via Disk Management that was corrupted when Bit Locker became unstable and caused the SSD card to no longer be recognised by the system (even bios does not see the device plugged in).

The steps I have seen so far are focused on data recovery more so then making the device usable, In this situation I am fine with losing any data on the SSD card as long as I can make the hardware functional again for future use.

I do have access to the recovery key via my Microsoft Account, though i would only use this to unlock the device and format the SSD so as to assign a letter to the drive.

Any assistance with the steps to follow while bypassing any recovery steps would be great as this will make it easier for me to follow them and get my hardware functional again.

    Kind regards
