  1. EXTREMELY loud fan noise when booting into windows 10

I'm not sure if anyone's been through this before, but if you have, please feel free to comment. So basically, I've got ubuntu and win10 on a laptop (with decent specs) and when I choose windows from Grub2, it shows the little dell logo.

Until then, it's all fine. BUT, the moment the windows lock screen shows up, it's absolute hell, and my guess is that the fans are actually touching part of the laptop somehow, making a whirring noise.

None of this is present on ubuntu. However, what I found interesting was the fact that when restarting from windows and into Grub2, the whirring continue into Ubuntu. I had to actually shut down for a couple minutes, choose Ubuntu on startup, and then the fans worked fine.

I've tried all the bios fan settings too, and none of them changed anything

    FAN making extremely loud noise

If a clean fan is making a lot of noise, it usually means that the bearing is shot and the fan will need to be replaced.

    Fan noise

Are there any problems with the fan noise? IS it loud or can you hear it at all? I currently have the Lenovo Yoga 920 and the fan is so loud!!! I need one with no fan noise or very very very quite noise.
