Windows 10: Facebook for Windows 10 is getting a big update with new features

Facebook is far and away the most popular social media platform on the internet. The social media giant remains committed to its Windows 10 app, at least the desktop counterpart. Today, the company is rolling out an update for its app with several new features that were previously tested with beta users.

Facebook’s Windows 10 app has been updated to version 171.1882.47562.0 with several new changes. First off, Facebook finally supports themes (coloured background text posts). This feature aims to make statuses are more attractive and colourful.

Facebook has always allowed users to add photos, emotions and activities but after today’s update, the regular text would look colourful.

In addition, to support for coloured background statuses, it comes with the following changes:

• You can now upload gifs, create polls, ask a question.
• UI changes: Search bar and notification icon tweaked. Facebook has also updated the dialog for nearby friends feature, and icons for Like, Share and Comment.
• New profile page: You can add a biographic, and edit the other sections.
• You can now react to comments.
• Performance improvements and bug fixes.

Intel E5200 Gets Updated, R0 Stepping Coming Up

Intel's Pentium Dual-Core E5200 processor is getting on course for a specifications update. The chip will feature in a new, improved Wolfdale-2M core, spec'd out as the R0 stepping, from its current M0 stepping. The new stepping is intended to add new instructions, power-management features, and bring about changes in the chip-package. A short list of known changes is as follows:

• CPUID changed from 10677 to 1067A
• Power State Indicator (PSI) support with Intel 4 series chipsets
• New instructions - XSAVE and XRSTOR
• New S-spec and MM numbers
• New halide-free chip package

Due to the changed CPUID, users may require BIOS updates to detect the CPU. According to the company, E5200 R0 should be out by April 13.

Come'on. Even tho it offers a privacy setting, it's still not good enough.

There's a very good article on What data Windows 10 sends to Microsoft and how to stop it – HackMag what explains what your W10 OS is doing on the background and what type of data it is sending.

Making a privacy setting still submits the very basic tracking data to various servers, and no-one actually knows what is happening with that.

Windows 7 never had any privacy killing features aboard, untill they pushed an update to even computers with automatic updated turned off, offering the same type of stuff.

People need to be aware that this is just a 'small' step into a future where privacy is just no more. This privacy will be gone the more the masses keep signing up to services in exchange for their data. W10, Google, Facebook, they are all a perfectly good example of company's who became too big.

Remove telemetry updates for Windows 7 and 8.1
