Windows 10: Facebook Messenger app doesn't pop up notifications, even though it's set to do so.

Hi. I've had trouble with the FB messenger app stopping throwing notifications up for a while now. If I remove it and reinstall, sometimes it'll work, others it won't. It may work for a couple of days and then suddenly stop. It's listed in the Notifications & Actions list, and turned on (all setting are correct for it too) yet it doesn't work. I've tried the latest beta version and that's the same. Anyone know of a fix?

Exactly the same issue for me. Notifications are 'On' but I don't see the Messenger app in the list of Apps as mentioned by OP. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it hasn't fixed the issue.

This is a problem I've been having from the very beginning. Both the Facebook and the Messenger apps do not show any notification in the action centre, the only difference being that Facebook shows notifications while the app is open but messenger
dosent show any even then. Upon checking, I saw that the messenger app is not even listed in the list of apps in the settings menu under
Settings>System>Notification and apps>Get notification from these senders. Facebook, however, does exist in that list. I am using windows 10 Pro 64 bit,

If the Messenger app doesn't show on the list under Notifications & Actions, it's possible that there are too many apps that are using the push notification. There is a limit to the number of apps you have installed that has push notifications enabled. You
may consider removing other apps that are not in use and check if it helps.

In addition, you can also try to check the Default App for Protocol to prioritize Messenger as the default. To do this, follow the steps listed below:

• Type Default app settings in the Search bar.
• Click Choose default apps by protocol.
• Look for the Messenger app then click on it.
• Restart PC and check if it works.
