Windows 10: Factory Reset

I had some issues with my HP desktop with Windows 10 and needed to restore it to factory settings. During the recovery process it allowed me to do a backup and I have my files in wim Archive format. I am hoping to recover all of my files but when doing the factory reset, it took me back to Windows 7. I received the Windows 10 update a few years ago automatically one day when my system was updating. I am trying to get the updates but the versions of IE is too old to connect to anything and fails. I downloaded Chrome which seems to work but don't know how to get back to Windows 10. I am hearing that the backup files (wim Archive) are in Windows 10 format and will not work on the Windows 7 OS that is now there after the factory reset. Please let me know if anyone has ideas on how to get this back. Thank you.

Thank you john for all of your help i decided to get the usb my computer came with and factory reset it i didnt have anything that personal or valueable so its ok thanks for the help though i appreciate it
