  1. Failed Redundancy on Mirrored drives

I have two drives that are mirrored. Currently they both show a status of "Failed Redundancy Page File". Both drives show that they are Online and present there is no indication of why the redundancy has failed. What is the best course of action to get back to a "Healthy" condition and get the volume operating properly again with out loosing any data?

    :)

  2. Disk mirror failed redundancy: Remove mirror or reactivate volume?

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

The cause for Failed Redundancy would be that half, but not both halves, of a mirrored volume was imported. In Disk Management, the imported half of the mirrored volume receives Failed Redundancy status, while the disk that holds the
half of the mirror that was not imported receives Missing status. You can import the Missing disk at a later time to restore redundancy.

The solution for Failed Redundancy is to move all disks that span this volume to the new computer at the same time, and then import all of the disks together.

The complete solution is giving in the section A mirrored volume's status is Data Not Redundant from
    Troubleshooting Disk Management.

You may also refer the section A dynamic disk's status is Offline or Missing from the above article and try the troubleshooting steps.

If you are still facing any issues related to Mirroring, then I suggest you to post your query in
IT Pro TechNet forums, where we have support professionals who are well equipped with the knowledge on Hard Disk Mirroring.

    Hope it helps.

    mirrored volume for file redundancy

See DaveM121's reply and let me add the following:

RAID 1 (mirroring) is *not* a backup solution. RAID 1 uses two or more drives, each a duplicate of the others, to provide redundancy, not backup. It's used in situations (almost always within corporations, not in homes) where any downtime
can't be tolerated, because the way it works is that if one drive fails the other takes over seamlessly.

    See https://www.howtogeek.com/346907/backups-vs.-redundancy-what%e2%80%99s-the-difference/

Although some people thing of RAID 1 as a backup technique, that is *not* what it is, since it's subject to simultaneous loss of the original and the mirror to many of the most common dangers threatening your data--severe
power glitches, nearby lightning strikes, virus attacks, theft of the computer, etc. Most companies that use RAID 1 also have a strong external backup plan in place.

    mirrored volume for file redundancy

I am trying to set up a mirrored volume for file redundancy. Can you use the computers hard drive plus a hard drive or do you need 2 extra hard drives. I have tried unsuccessfully to set up a mirrored drive with 1 extra hard drive. I have followed instructions
but cannot get it to work. I would appreciate any assistance.
