Windows 10: Failed setup of Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio

Hi,I am trying to install SSMS locally in order to connect to an Azure SQL Database. The installation does not work as displayed below, how can I resolve this issue?

Announcing SQL Server Management Studio – 16.5.1 Release

Today, we are pleased to announce the latest generally-available (GA) quality release of SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) 16.5.1. This update fixes a couple issues listed below.

The version number for the latest release is 13.0.16100.1

New in this release

Fixed an issue where Invoke-Sqlcmd erroneously inserts multiple rows when check constraint occurs. Microsoft Connect Item: 811560

Fixed an issue where Japanese Management Studio 2016 does not work completely in creating Availability Group.

Fixed an issue where clicking query plan XML does not open the SSMS Graphical UI.

Released: Microsoft Kerberos Configuration Manager for SQL Server v3.1

We are pleased to announce the latest generally-available (GA) of Microsoft Kerberos Configuration Manager for SQL Server.

Kerberos authentication provides a highly secure method to authenticate client and server entities (security principals) on a network. To use Kerberos authentication with SQL Server, a Service Principal Name (SPN) must be registered with Active Directory, which plays the role of the Key Distribution Center in a Windows domain. In addition, many customers also enable delegation for multi-tier applications using SQL Server. In such a setup, it may be difficult to troubleshoot the connectivity problems with SQL Server when Kerberos authentication fails.

The Kerberos Configuration Manager for SQL Server is a diagnostic tool that helps troubleshoot Kerberos related connectivity issues with SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, and SQL Server Analysis Services. It can perform the following functions:

Gather information on OS and Microsoft SQL Server instances installed on a server.

Report on all SPN and delegation configurations on the server.

Identify potential problems in SPNs and delegations.

Fix potential SPN problems.

This release (v 3.1) adds support for SQL Server 2016.

Announcing SQL Server Management Studio – March 2016 Refresh

Today, we are very pleased to announce the latest preview of SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). This release includes all updates included in the earlier March release, and features an update to the Visual Studio 2015 shell bringing with it enhancements such as the quick launch toolbar and improved theming options, a bug fix in the SSMS tools menu option, and a bug fix in SSMS new project templates.

New in this release
1.New quick launch toolbar to quickly find menu items, and options dialogs.

2.Improvement in SSMS theming options to add support for an SSMS light theme.

3.Bug fix in SSMS tools menu option to correctly reset query shortcuts if the “Reset to Default” button is pressed.

4.Bug fix in SSMS new project templates to display easily readable template names.

Known issues in this release
1.This release does not save maintenance plans for SQL Server 2008 R2 and earlier SQL Server versions. We are working on a fix for this issue. In the meantime, you can use a previous version of SSMS to save the maintenance plans.
