    Win10 2004! C: drive about 41GB, Backup Drive 241GB!

Getting error message that there is NOT enough space to create the shadow copy on the storage location!

Tried the same on trhee different source drives, one of them with pristine install of Win10 only 31GB!

Tried different target drives, one SSD and two HDD, with free space ranging from 167 to 241 GB!

Obviously there is a fault in level 2004 of Win10 I have also installed the latest Preview of cummulative update for 2004 KB4577063

System Image backup error code 0x80780119

I just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I now want to do a system image backup to an external hard drive. I have tried several times and several ways with up to a 2 TB external drive for just over 100 GB backup size. I always get the same backup
failed error code 0x80780119, stating that there is not enough free space to create the volume shadow copy.

How can I fix this error, or how can I do a system image backup without including the System Reserved disk?

  3. Windows 10 Create System Image gives error

Could be the following situation, which usually produces error 0x80780119.

It's unintuitive, but a partition on the drive you're backing up used by Shadow Copy is possibly the problem. The solution would be to provide more free space on the System Reserved Partition.

    Much more here.

Can't hurt to check into this one.

    Help, cant create windows image

    Hello there, @fullinfusion!

It seems like some sort of an OS confusion has happened with your secondary WD Black and I'm sorry to hear about that. *Frown Failed to create system Image in Windows 10 2004 0x80780119 :(
Maybe re-formatting it would help indeed as the community already mentioned. I'd suggest to take a look at this step-by-step how to partition and format an HDD: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=PYCoid
Keep in mind that this will wipe clean the drive, so you should backup all important data from the drive somewhere else.
I noticed from the screenshots that your HDD appears as Disk 0, this means that it's plugged in the primary SATA port where the SSD (as an OS drive) should be. Actually it is possible that because of this Windows cannot create the image there. Swap the ports of the SSD and the HDD, this might help as well.

Keep me posted. Hope this helped! *Smile Failed to create system Image in Windows 10 2004 0x80780119 :)
