  1. Failed to enumerate objects in the container. Access is denied.

So I did a full "reset" of Windows 10, wiping all data, and I should have thought about this, but was like, "what the heck!" and now my original user account was wiped and my permissions on my internal RAID array has been destroyed. I've re-assigned my new account as the owner on the array, but hadn't enabled the inheritance on all the subfolders.

Now I just tried going into a subfolder and got the access denied message, so I'm going into Security > Advanced (it shows me as the owner, but has the old account (now just displaying the ID) still there (as well as the new for some reason). So I just removed that old account from the permissions, and enabled the inheritance (from the root of the array) and hit apply.

Now, as it's applying the settings, it's stopping every few seconds with

Failed to enumerate objects in the container. Access is denied. ca3b5e37-78eb-42db-b428-e5fd29c71f1e?upload=true.png

And I have to hit "continue". I don't really want to have to do this every few seconds for hundreds of GBs.

Maybe there's a powershell command where I can force through that message.

But why is this even happening? I'd have thought MS would have anticipated users experiencing "non-C:\" drives and the wiping of permissions on them and built them into the wizard of the reset.

    EDIT:

I've now canceled that operation on the subfolder, and went back to the root of the array and in THOSE security properties, (because those are all clean - no old accounts) and just checked the box to "Replace all child object permission entries with inheritable permission entries from this object." It seems to be plowing through everything now without hiccups.

    :)

  2. failed to enumerate objects in container, access is denied

I've gone through the steps that are supposed to allow me to delete a folder but when I get to this step:

Failed to enumerate objects in the container. Access is denied. [IMG]

The box at the top does not appear on my screen just the one at the bottom. Clicking the bottom box and continuing does not give me the permission I need to delete the folder. What else can I try? Thanks.
