Windows 10: Failed to initialize $MFT file due to error in file system.

I am trying to clone my partition on windows bootcamp using AOMEI Partition Assistant 9.13.1 however it keeps coming up with the error "Failed to initialize $MFT file due to error in file system." I have already tried CHKDSK.EXE in CMD and reinstalling windows however this error keeps popping up when I try to do something with the partitions. It is error code 208 to be precise.

MFT, page file location on hard disk (physical)

MFT files contain internal information (data) about the "real" data stored on the volume.

The are normaly located at the Beginning of the "partition".

Also;

Resident Attributes: Attributes that require a small amount of storage space are stored within the file's primary MFT record itself.

Non-Resident Attributes: If an attribute requires more space than is available within the MFT, is not stored in that record, the attribute is placed in a separate location, with a pointer within the MFT that leads to the location of the attribute.

So a NRA MRT file could be located wherever it fits on the HDD.

 

Location of MFT and MFT Zone

Hi,

when system starts, ntfs.sys driver tries to allocate MFT zone just after last MFT fragment. If this is impossible MFT zone is located in any suitable place on disk.

Please note, MFT zone have no physical representation in file system terms, it exists only due ntfs.sys attempts to optimize possible MFT increasing.
