Windows 10: Failed to install Nvidia display drivers for GTX 980 Error code 0x80240034

Windows crashes immediately upon installing and drivers for my GTX 980 in a new pc build, and then the computer gets stuck in a boot loop, crashing after a few seconds whenever windows itself begins booting back up only to end up in windows repair/recovery if I let it reboot too many times. I have reinstalled windows multiple times, and every time I try to install the drivers, it crashes again to no avail. The graphics cards shows up as a basic Microsoft display adapter before I attempt to update the drivers. I have attempted to update the drivers both through windows and going to nvidia's geforce driver website again, with no difference. I have successfully tried to boot windows in safe mode and find that device manager does acknowledge it as an nvidia geforce gtx 980 with the correct, up-to-date drivers installed, but as soon as I reboot in normal mode, the same problems keep occuring. I should also mention that the resolution is stuck at 800 x 600 at all times, even in bios, and when I run the computer with just integrated graphics, everything works/runs fine. Please let me know if you need anymore information.


PS. I have looked into updating the cards bios but, for life of me, I CAN NOT find the bios update ANYWHERE for this specific card. It is a MSI GTX 980 4GD5T OC. If you can find the correct bios update, please let me know!

Nvidia GTX 980 Driver Issues

So I've been trying to get my drivers installed for my GTX 980 after upgrading to Win 10 and it's not happening. I've tried going through GeForce Experience, it says "Sorry GeForce could not find a driver for this PC". I've tried installing the newest
driver manually, and it fails the install process every time. I've tried doing it through Windows Update and it fails there as well giving me a message saying "NVIDIA driver update for NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 - Error 0x80070425". It's really annoying me as
I'm an avid gamer. Please help.

Display problems with GTX 980 Ti and Asus vg248

Hi,

I just got a brand new computer and did a clean install of Windows 10. After the installation of all the drivers and everything, the display does not properly work. I get a screen like this: http://i.imgur.com/nzdGwrq.jpg

I have an Asus GTX 908 Ti connected with a DVI cable to an Asus vg248. The resolution is set (and forced) to 1920x1080 and looks like this. If I use an HDMI cable, I can set the resolution to something lower (1024 or lower) and it looks okay, just with a
very low resolution.

So far, I have tried to completely uninstall Nvidia drivers, install them again, install different versions, I have tried safe mode, GeForce Experience, anything basically, even to completely install Windows 10 again. No success.

I am no exactly sure what is the problem in fact. Drivers? WIndows 10? The GPU?

I also just noticed that the GPU is listed with a warning in Device Manager, it says the card was stopped with code 43.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Clean install of Windows 10 and dual GTX 980 problem

Big Problem

Upgraded from GA-Z97X SOC to GA-Z97X Gaming G1 BK to enjoy more PCI lane with PLX chip.

It has been a nightmare.

Keep getting graphic card error with my 2 GTX 980 in SLI. Error 43, BSOD, ....

Tried everything. New NVDIA drivers, Older NVDIA drivers, DDU, even a clean install of Windows 10. Nothing works! Andeven after the clean install, machine is super unstable, its not usable because keeps freezing, crashing or going
BSOD: always related to graphic cards

More info for you guys,

Followed the basic steps for clean install.

1-Installed on SSD array using usb windows 10 install

2-installed latest mobo drivers for windows 10 x64 (pulled from gigabyte website)

3-Installed latest drivers fron NVDIA web site

after that all its hell....

Tried to troubleshoot,

1- like mentionned above, change NVDIA drivers using DDU in safe mode: fails, (redid this with dofferent version of drivers with same results

2- Tried new clean install with disabling automatic driver update in windows prior to installing GTX 980 and using NVDIA drivers: same tesults. So retried step 2 with all version of NVDIA drivers: fails

Everything was fine before mobo upgrade.

Beside the new mobo, kept everythingelsethe same (same hardware see list at bottom of post). Same CPU, same Dual GTX 980, Same SSD, HD, ...

Only difference,my old rig was a Windows 10 upgrade. Initially was windows 7 that was upgraded through win upgrade abour a year ago.

Going insane with this. Please help!
