Windows 10: Failed to install Security Update KB2267602 Error 0x8024001e

What does this mean, as subsequent updates installed successfully. Is it needed for proper operation of Windows Defender or do the later updates resolve potential issues from not having the previous version. The particular version that failed is 1.301.623.0, however, the next several versions successfully installed, 1.301.677.0, 1.301.746.0, 1.301.824.0, etc.

update KB4015217 fails with error code 0x8024001e

Immediate Problem:

Windows 10 pro version 1607. KB4015217 released on 4/11/2017 has run and failed each day since 4/11. The update downloads fine, but fails during install. I believe the error code is 0x8024001e, but I'm not certain - it's difficult to get an error code
to display.

Background: Recent case SR117040515556352 on WMI (closed on 4/10 late evening) supposedly resolved, may not be resolved - maybe the cause.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

 

Is KB2267602 installation required?

Today I looked at my Update History and noticed the following regarding KB2267602:

"Definition Update for Windows Defender Antivirus - KB2267602 (Definition 1.291.1488.0)(2)

Last failed install attempt on 4/9/2019 - 0x80070643"

I have seen some locked threads on this subject and am not sure whether to try and download it, if possible, or not. I can't find KB2267602 listed in my list of Installed Updates. I use Norton Security Premium and have the
periodic scanning turned off in the Windows Security - Virus and threat protection section. (Maybe that is why it didn't update, or do I even need it?)
