    Failure to install KB4568831 on Build 19041.546 (RTM Build)


    I've tried installing KB4568831 on Windows 10 Pro with build 19041.546. The update didn't show up on Windows Update even as an optional update, so I fetched the MSU package from Microsoft Update Catalog. Upon starting the installer, it shows "The update is not applicable to your computer.". I just wanted to fetch the update on my box so that I could enable the new start menu (the update delivers the code for that, post which we need to perform a registry tweak) but it doesn't install sadly. Has anyone else faced similar issue?

    KB4568831 not installing

    I am presently at version 20H2 OS build 19042.388. KB4568831 is failling to install, it just loops from installing to downloading back to downloading. The following is logger in event viewer

    Error Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x8024200D: 2020-07 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64-based Systems (KB4568831).

    I have ran SFC and DISM with no errors. Deleted files in c:windows\softwaredistribution\downloads with no help. Any ideas
