    Fake Tech Support Scam


    Hi all, I've seen a lot of talk on here of fake tech support taking control of computers to help you fix "problems" with your computer. I was in a panic when i got this fake notification and didn't know what to do so I called and let the person take control of my computer. I didn't give him any personal info whatsoever but i am aware that a lot of damage could have been done. I am simply seeking out opinions on what I should do now. Thank you.

    Ms tech support is it a scam?

    As already mentioned: Yes that's a scam.

    All these kind of pop-ups are fake warnings - scams. Never ever call these numbers.

    Clear your temporary internet files and reboot. Do not restore the browser session.

    After the reboot, the pop-up should be gone.

    No, that's not a Microsoft phone number.

    All these kind of pop-ups/alerts are fake warnings - scams. Never ever call these numbers.
