    Fall Creators Update Problems


    For more than a year, Windows has been trying to install the subject update and for that long, various incarnations of updates have failed to install on my Acer Aspire S7. The program hangs up my entire system at 1% installed so that I have no choice but to shut down and reboot several times. Even the "windows is restoring previous versions" gets hung up and I have to shut down and reboot. I have been fortunate since so far I haven't lost files, etc., during this giant takeover of the lap top system, but I am wondering, what do I need Fall Creators for and can I possibly uninstall the entire program so this continuing forced update no longer occurs? I can't uninstall the update since it has NEVER installed to begin with. I no longer have an option to disable updates for this program either.

    Any help please?

    other security updates run normally, I jsut have a long list of the fall creator updates not installing

    Fall Creators Update Problems

    Disk bloat in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update

    Is it my imagination, or does the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update consume an additional 20-30GB of disk space over the previous Creators Update release? Unfortunately, I didn't log my disk usage before the upgrade, but now my C: drive has 56GB of stuff, and I know it wasn't anywhere near that full before. I've run "Disk Cleanup -> Clean up system files" and selected everything on the list, including remove previous version of Windows. I also emptied my Recycle Bin, my Temp folder, \Windows\Temp folder, and \Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download folder. Finally, I ran Wise Disk Cleaner to delete assorted application garbage.

    Has anyone else noticed the bloat in Fall Creators Update?
