Windows 10: Fall Creators Update

Has anyone installed it yet? If so did it break anything for you? Debating If I should update or not.

Fall Creators update Slow to Update

Around the Official release of Windows10 Fall Creators I was able to upgrade a few machines from the Creators update to the Fall Creators update; except one. I've done excess checking for updates on a daily basis via Windows Update and no sign of the Fall
Creators update to install ?

And I've seen a couple of threads on 1709 elsewhere- try searching for 1709.

 

I will be running it on a VM for a bit of time before I commit to it. Taking an image is always a wise idea. I may update my old desktop sooner rather than later, as I don't really do much with it. Will give me a good playground to test on, where I don't care if anything doesn't work.

 

Finished mine from WU without issue. 2nd check for updates gave me 1709 16299.19

 

as meebers done the same with Wu ended with 1709 16299.19 no problems so far.

 

My windows search service won't start. Other than that things work.

 

I have been running it for a couple of weeks without any issues.

 

Did the Upgrade but i noticed tiles are missing from the start menu like the games, news feeds, windows mail...in fact, can't even bring up mail at all as when i check it on search it doesn't show at all (wanted to re-pin it to menu) Also, Windows Store icon is missing from the taskbar...if i click the space where it was, it opens up but the symbol is missing on the taskbar...

Anyone else have similiar issues? any suggestions on correcting or will i have to end up doing a clean install???

 

Not having those issues, but I would suggest creating a new user account and see if the problem transfers over. If it does not transfer over, your user account files are corrupted. It the problem does repeat in a new user account, then Windows is the problem.

well if i ignore the bsod on every boot where i have to press enter to get windows to move on then no nothing broke, and the log claiming i have memory issues which i did not have before no nothing broke all is well i just need to get a sledge hammer from the shack and see if that will improve anything

 

You do have the option of reverting to the previous build (within 10 days) - but a sledgehammer might be more immediately satisfying...
