  1. Family activity reporting doesn't work - version 1903

This summer my 2 sons have left for over a month of vacation and they didn't use their computers at all. After they came back home, I noticed that activity reporting no longer works - it shows no information, as if they still haven't used their computers.

Once I started troubleshooting, I noticed a message on the Family portal saying that my sons' computers need to be updated. I installed all updates, but the message would not go away. Only after I manually upgraded to version 1903, the message disappeared. However, activity reporting still not working.

I did all regular troubleshooting steps: made my sons go through aka.ms/familyverify, made sure that Feedback & Diagnostics is on full, rebooted multiple times...

I am still able to change their activity times, and changes on the website are reflected in their machines. Apps and websites I've blocked in the past are still not accessible. They can send me emails asking for more time, and I can give them more time by clicking the link in the email.

However, I am not able to monitor their activity, neither to add any new apps / websites to black or white lists. Family activity pages for both of them are empty. I am also not getting the weekly reports.

Did anyone have such problem? Any ideas on how to slove it?

    :)

  2. Family activity report

    Hi Javier,

There are ways on how to manage activity reporting for your child. To configure your account settings, here are the steps:

    • Go to the account.microsoft.com/family site at Microsoft on any PC
    • Then sign-in
    • Open Settings
    • Tap on the Accounts icon
    • Click on Family and other users on the left side
    • Chose Manage family settings online
    • Check recent activity link for the child's account

Turn On and Manage Activity Reporting for Child

    • Click on Recent activity on the left side, and turn on Activity reporting.
    • Check or uncheck to Email weekly reports to me for what you want.
    • Under Web browsing, Apps and games etc., you can view your child's recent activity for each one, tap on Change settings
    • Then set allowed times to manage them, and to block any apps and games.

To Turn Off Activity Reporting for your Child, just tap on Recent activity on the left side, and turn off Activity reporting on the right side.

Get back to us if the steps won't work.

Windows doesn`t start. Authomatic repair doesn`t work.

    Thanks again!!

I`m sorry I had not noticed that the text on the picture was in spanish. It says that windows has replaced some damaged clusters in "name" file and "directory". Then, at the end "an unspecified error occurred (75736e6a726e6c2e 4f6)".

I`ll do it and I`ll be updating this thread when I have the report.

I ran SeaTools. These are the results:

Does it mean my HDD is useless?

    Child Activity Report

    Hello Tareq,

Let's determine the cause of the issue. To get started, I'd like to get the following information:

    • Is this your first time to encounter this issue? If so, did you make any changes to your account or to your computer prior to this?
    • Which email address did you use when you've set up the Family Safety?

To make sure, I suggest that your follow these steps and see if it helps:

    • Go to account.microsoft.com/family
and sign in with your Microsoft account.
    • Find your child's name and select Activity.
    • If Activity reporting is turned Off, use the switch to turn it
      On.

Note: If you don't want to get weekly activity reports in your email, but still want to see your child's online activity, switch Email me weekly reports from On to Off.

We're looking forward to your response.
