  1. Family Safety Time Restrictions Wrong

When my child is using his computer sometimes he will be told to ask for more time, or wait until tomorrow, even though he is within the OK window (7:00am-11:30pm). Then he is locked out. Time allowance is set to maximum. Sunday may be the worst day of the week for this.

I have tried changing the times in Family Safety to fix it. Will not work even if OK time is set to all day.

Works OK with my other child.

If I turn time restrictions off, he can sign in. If he requests more time, and I allow it, this works.

How do I fix this, so he can be on the computer only from 7:00am-11:30pm? Is there some sort o reset?

    :)

  3. Family Safety Time Restrictions Wrong

Hi David. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 10 year Windows MVP here to help you.

Family safety is pretty buggy based on all the cases we see here. Ironically what works best is to remove the child account from the family, restart the PC, then add him/her back.

    Family Safety Time Restrictions Wrong

Hole in Windows Family Safety Time Restrictions

There is a hole in using the family safety time restrictions on Windows 10. If you set the bios time to before the curfew it alows you to use Windows like you normally would. However after two minutes or so it will adjust the time back to what the time to
what it should be (I'm asuming it needs an internet connection to do this). Within that time, you can end the family monitor task through task manager. You will then be able to use Windows like you normally would without the time restrictions (until the computer
is rebooted). The likelihood of a child doing this to get around the restrictions is small, but it's just something I discovered.
