Fans running as I press the "hibernate" option

Had a game of Fortnite running in the background and forgot to close it, and I was in a rush because I had to go somewhere. I quickly went to the Windows menu and pressed "hibernate" from my power options. My laptop screen turned off, everything worked, fans were still running though. Then, they suddenly turned off like normal. I've never done this before; usually the system is quiet as I hibernate my laptop, but I forgot to close the CPU and graphics intensive Fortnite. This has only happened once.

Also note that all that happened last night. Turned my laptop on again after a day of work around 4:40pm and the fans were working continuously and would not quiet down no matter what. CPU usage was stuck around 25%-30% on light usage and would not go down at all (it normally stays around 1%-10% on Chrome and other browser usage). Looked in task manager and saw some WLAN extender wireless process was using up 15% of CPU for no apparent reason, but it was only listed for 1-2 seconds. After a normal restart my laptop is working great again.

Now the question is: Could this have damaged my laptop?

    :)
