Fast Boot without lock hard drive

Can someone tell me how to make Fast Boot enabled on dual boot machine, with selection to not lock hard drive, since I would like to make it possible to have screen with dual boot options on every start up. Now, If I select Fast Boot enabled, it locks hard drive and there is no blue screen with options with dual boot.

    Windows 10, 1809 version.

    :)

    Maxtor Hard Drive Beep

    Maxtor drive beeps

Have a similiar situation using a DiamondMax Plus 8, 20GB Mfg Date 4/15/03. Drive used as a second system drive. Drive is recognized in boot menu but not in drive list. Drive is always connected. Computer started locking up for several seconds at a time. Chkdsk on drives and couldn't find that drive. Removed drive from bay to make sure connections were ok and heard the beeping. Shutdown and restart and never got to windows screen. Restarted several times then saw drive in boot menu and Windows loaded but Maxtor not in drive menu. When recognized in boot menu, computer will start but beeps and is not found.

Tried kicking it real hard but no improvement. Any suggestions?

    Locked hard drive

    Hello,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Please provide some additional information, so that we can assist you better.

    1. What happens when you try to run your system in ‘Normal Mode’?
    2. May I know if your hard disk is locked with ‘Bit Locker’ encryption?
    3. What is the make and model number of your system?

If your system is booting to ‘Safe Mode’ on its own upon every restart, you can follow the steps below to start the system in ‘Normal Mode’.

    Steps:

    1. Press ‘Windows + R’ simultaneously on your keyboard.
    2. Type MSCONFIG and then click on Enter button on your keyboard.
    3. In MSCONFIG, click on the ‘Boot’ tab, uncheck ‘Safe boot’.
    4. Click on ‘Apply’ and ‘Ok’.
    5. Restart the computer.

    Hope it helps.
