    FAT_FILE_SYSTEM error


    Inserting SD card in USB reader instantly crash Windows with error FAT_FILE_SYSTEM and reboots. Reboot never finishes as the same error prevents from booting. Unable to run chkdsk even from recovery console as access to this disk causes crash. There were no issues before update to latest Windows build with the same card. Tried different 2GB and even small 64MB card and same issue so it is not card fault.OS: Version 21H1Build:19043.985

    I have the same problem and I follow your steps put when I chose (repair your computer) I see the first step (select country ) when i press next i return to the same blue screen error fat_file_system

    Which build of Windows 10 is installed on the tablet?

    Windows 10 Insider Preview still in the testing phase, so there might be some features which might not work as expected. You will experience FAT_FILE_SYSTEM blue screen errors after you’ve installed new hardware or software.

    FAT_FILE_SYSTEM errors can be related to corrupt or outdated device drivers. Check the drivers installed and if anything seems to be out of place reinstall the drivers and check.

    Try to run a System File Checker (SFC) scan to check for any file corruption.
    SFC scan will scan for corrupt system files on the computer and repair them.

    • Press Windows key + X, click Command Prompt (Admin).
    • In the Command Prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

      sfc /scannow

    Do let us know the following to assist you better with this issue:

    • Have you installed Windows 10 operating system on your device?
    • When exactly you get this error message?

    If you are Windows 10, I suggest you to perform an automatic repair on your system by following steps suggested by me on January 20, 2016 and check if it helps.
