Windows 10: Favourites Tab works but Folder under User name out of date

    Favourites Tab works but Folder under User name out of date


    I am on Win 10 Build 1809 64 Bit.

    Today I went to back up my Favourites as I have added and deleted some websites from them recently including today. I have a number of Topic related Folders within Favourites and I know how to sort them alphabetically.

    Within MS Edge my Favourites tab works perfectly Ok.

    But

    When I go to C:\Users\Neil\Favourites the dates against many end at 2016 and do not include recent additions such as the one I added today.


    Guidance please on how I can update C:\Users\Neil\Favourites to show current sites?.

    Once I that is updated I can then copy it to a backup disc.

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

    I understand that you are facing issues with changing the folder name under Users folder in Windows 10.

    I suggest you to perform the below steps and check if it helps.

    1. Open the File Explorer and double click on C drive.

    2. Open Users folder from the list.

    3. Click on the user name folder and then tap on F2 Key.

    4. Change the name of the folder and hit on Enter Key.

    5. It will ask for Administrator Permission and click on Ok.

    6. Folder name will be changed.

    User Account folder name

    Well... that accomplished absolutely nothing! F2 alone brought up my volume bar. Ctrl-F2 = nothing! Fn-F2 = nothing! And, finally, Alt-F2 = nothing! What's supposed to happen when I "click" the User [my (sorta) name] folder and press the F2 key?!

    Windows 10 My Favourites list is gone!

    I have loaded up Windows 10 and my favourites list is gone. This is pretty frustrating as I had a big list of favourites built up over a couple of years for work and my own personal browsing. I tried the adive offered by Krishna to Maggie in the forum which
    was:

    "I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps to restore the favourites.

    • Click This PC
    • Type %userprofile% into the Address bar
    • Press Enter on your keyboard
    • Right click the Favorites folder
    • Click Properties
    • Click Previous Versions
    • Wait for the list of previous versions to load
    • Select a version that was before you lost the files/folders
    • Click Restore."
    When I got to step 6 my previous versions list showed only today. Surely the loading of Windows 10 has not wiped out my Favourites? What can I do from here?
