Windows 10: fax and scan doesnt produce a file

    fax and scan doesnt produce a file


    It worked fine for my first 6 months...even today it worked fine for the first scan


    I can see a "preview" just fine


    but when ihit the scan button, the printer makes the usual noises. as it scans, but when it finishes, the scan window that pops up when I select scan, dissapears, and no document appears in the window, I checked under downloaded files and it shows nothing


    Usually after the scan.,a copy appears on the screen and I have the opportunity to click on it and "save as".


    I rebooted computer and the printer. nothing happens to fix it


    the printer is obviously recognized since a preview occurs just fine.

    Hello,

    By default, scans are saved in a Scans folder inside the Pictures. Here are the steps on how to get there:

    • Press Windows and type pictures
    • Click Pictures and double-click the Scans folder.

    Furthermore, we suggest that you repair your Word application by following the steps on this

    Thank you for your reply.

    I have tried the steps you listed and there is no change in the system.

    Running the scan produced no findings.

    I still have the same issue with being unable to open folders and see the contents, despite the folder being in the task bar.

    Any suggestions to resolve this will be gratefully received.

    Not able to scan using application ABBYY Finereader 6.0 sprint getting error message "cannot open TWAIN source".

    Thank you for your advice. Unfortunately neither suggestion worked. No drop down list of drivers, thwain did not produce a scan button.
