Good point. OK. Here in France internet is a human right (apparently) and can't be taken away but isn't of course free (about $30 unlimited a month including basic TV/phone).

Can't comment on pricing vs US but as far as I can figure internet should cost more in the US than small European countries as (I hope I'm not being contentious here) the US is bigger. You'd need longer cables and so on.
*Shock *Eek $30 for phone/basic tv/Internet. That is cheap. here in kind of rural Canada 11k from nearest town , I pay $210.00cdn to a Cable company for the same ,except my tv is not basic ,it digital with 1 rented high def PVR and 2 regular digital boxes hooked to 3 TV's

30 actually which is about $33. But France is sparsely populated for Europe (it is the size of Texas and only about twice the population). Some smaller counties are cheaper. That was my point - if there are lots of people close together it is cheaper than if you have to run cables 100s of miles for just a couple of guys. Probably. here in Canada ,my Province anyway ,they will not run and cable for miles for a few people ,I live in a Y in the main road[main rd is about 20Kl long but most housed were on the other end ] ,cable company came off the main rd and came in my way only 7 houses ,they stopped at my house ,people on the rest of the main rd[8kl] never got cable . my in-laws across the road from me have to use the wifi as there homes are serviced from the main rd
there are only 2 cable company's in my province ,and one has a deal with the government to supply wifi to rural areas ,and it not the company that's in my neighbourhood . so that what other in my hood have to use wifi ,there is also a satellite 4g wifi available ,but that's very pricy and has caps

They must have. Here's what is available in my area:
    1. 3 Mbps @ $29.95
    2. 6 Mbps @ $49.95
    3. 25 Mbps @ $53.95
    4. 105 Mbps @ $63.95
    5. 150 Mbps @ $ 79.99
You must have Xfinity TV or Voice.
150 Mbps also come with the Triple Play package. That what it is here in Indiana (maybe a few dollars difference on the higher packages). BunnyJ service must have been grandfathered in. Until recently you couldn't even get Internet at $29.95 with limited tv service. You would had to pay at lot more for Economy Internet even though you had limited cable tv. I use number 1 myself. My internet special runs out in March or April. I find out surprisingly the videos I watch have very little buffering if any. Buffering doesn't bother me in the least, because when done it doesn't skip a word. I watched movies & tv shows at hulu, internet movie database, Xfinity, Amazon, lifetime, etc I also watch some youtube vidoes.

My cable bill is just over $300.00 a month. Xfinity Triple Play with 2 DVRs, 1 HD box and 1 standard box. If they raise the prices again I'll switch to a cheaper plan even though the family will lose some of their favorite channels. If it was just me I'd put up a antennae go with the internet and phone only plan.

You guys have some cheap services. I pay $138/month for 4M up/down no data cap internet. Pay $161/month for DISH satellite with 2 DVRs and 4 HD TVs (Premium channels included). Don't have a landline phone but pay $230/month for our family cell phone package.

I have 1400 minutes (shared between 4 phones) talk, unlimited texts and unlimited data.

We have pretty much unlimited talk too because we would never come near that 1400 minute ceiling. If we call each other (or another Verizon customer) those minutes don't count (Mobile to Mobile they call it). For those numbers we call that aren't Verizon customers, we can have up to 10 numbers listed (Friends & Family) and those minutes aren't counted. In addition, if we call during off peak those minutes aren't counted either. What it boils down to is that very few of the minutes we use during a month are actually subtracted from that 1400 minute number.

Had to get unlimited texts because one of my daughters regularly hit 8,000 texts per month. Unlimited data is nice for when I travel as I can watch Netflix video or listen to Pandora radio and not worry about a data cap.

Need lots of talk minutes because I work from home and use my phone to call into meetings and take classes and such. I probably average at least 120 minutes a week from that alone.

I have 600 Minutes talk, 5,000 texts and about 1Gb data. that would cost maybe 70$cdn for one phone here, I have no need for a data package nor does my wife,[on LTD] she's home all day [when she's not next door looking after her 87year old mother ] ,I only work about 4hrs a day ,so iam home the [or somewhere I done need data]rest of the time

My wireless service is giving me 13mb up and down with no data cap for US $60.

I use a $20 a month internet phone service which gives me 2 local phone numbers and 4000 local minutes and 1000 minutes toll call pretty much any where in the world. I am saving about $50 a month by ditching the land line.
