Windows 10: Feature update to Windows 10, version 1803 - Error 0x80070005

During auto windows update I receive the following message. The update fails every time. I have turned off Norton but the update still fails. I am not computer literate so need a simply remedy here, unless this is an update that is not critical and one I can ognore? Will it prevent future updates installing correctly without this update though? Thanks

How do I resolve this? Every solution I've seen was for Vista.

Good morning:

On my Thinkpad X1 5th generation, I have tried many times to update 1709 to 1803 (Fall Creators to April update). Each time it stops and gives the message "• Feature update to Windows 10, version 1803 - Error 0x80070005".

I have tried the suggested trouble-shooting diagnostics multiple times, each time getting the fixed checkmark. Then the same error.

One of the suggested solution procedures was a bit more complicated than I was willing to undertake. So, I have now created a bootable 1803 USB and backed up the X1.

Does anyone know how to fix this error? I would prefer to use the windows automatic update. Of course, I can try to "clean install" windows 1803, or simply wait until the problem is fixed.

Any Ideas?
