I keep on getting these message's and how do I get my digital operation key from Microsoft?

How do I resolve this? Every solution I've seen was for Vista.

Good morning:

On my Thinkpad X1 5th generation, I have tried many times to update 1709 to 1803 (Fall Creators to April update). Each time it stops and gives the message "• Feature update to Windows 10, version 1803 - Error 0x80070005".

I have tried the suggested trouble-shooting diagnostics multiple times, each time getting the fixed checkmark. Then the same error.

One of the suggested solution procedures was a bit more complicated than I was willing to undertake. So, I have now created a bootable 1803 USB and backed up the X1.

Does anyone know how to fix this error? I would prefer to use the windows automatic update. Of course, I can try to "clean install" windows 1803, or simply wait until the problem is fixed.

Been trying for ages to download the feature update but consistently get the message "Feature update to Windows 10, version 1803 -Error 0x80070005"

It downloads, starts installing then dies.

Tried deleting files in "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution"

Restarting, of course

Tried Windows Troubleshooter, found some errors but no change

Tried logging in as another admin, same issue

MS Surface Pro 4, Build 17133.73

Any ideas appreciated, thanks in advance
