Windows 10: Feature update to Windows 10, version 1803 - Error 0x80070020

My copy of Windows 10 Home is stuck on a feature update.


I have followed most of the steps here...

My copy of windows is fine otherwise. I have taken all obvious steps, remove peripherals, no 3rd party antivirus ect...


I have run DISM.exe and sfc /scannow




It says it found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.


I have the CBS log but have no idea what to do with it.


I have run the update troubleshooter it says...

Potential Windows Update Database error detected
Not fixed
Possible issues may prevent Windows Update from keeping your system up to date.


I have tried the update assistant and in "in place upgrade" with the Windows media creation tool.


I would rather not have to preform a clean install of Windows or install 3rd party software to fix it, thanks.


Can anyone help with this?

Using the latest Windows 10 ISO file is the most succesfull method to install the Windows 10 1803 update. However, since you are having an error when using the solutions provided from the link that you provided, I would suggest that you try the steps in
the link that was provided by Sumit (Independent Advisor) in this

thread, and check if it helps.

Should you have further queries, feel free to post it.

I have same error 2018-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4338819) - Error 0x80070020 and using the manual download from the catalog link also did not work. I am not comfortable going through the steps to block updates,
thinking that is not a good idea. Would much rather Microsoft work the bugs out of this update and then try again.
